Freedom 2008: Anthony Evans

Despite his youth, Professor Evans an expert on transitionary economies from a free market perspective in this country.  Assistant Professor of Economics and the European School of Management, Evans has written prolifically over the past year on free market and firm management issues.  His first book is titled The Neoliberal Revolution in Eastern Europe: Economic Ideas in the Transition from Communism, and will be released in January of next year.

Evans studied at George Mason University, the world-renowned free market madrassa located close to the heart of American government, and lived in Virginia for a number of years.  He has done fieldwork for the George Mason’s Mercatus Center in Romania, examining the emergence of the Romanian free-market movement during regime change.  Since then, he has written a number of papers on Romania, and sits on the editorial board of the Romanian Economics and Business Review.

Besides eastern Europe, organisational cultures and business management, Anthony is a keen Austrian economist, having written papers in mainstream economic journals on the subject, including one on the re-emergence of Austrian economics behind the Iron curtain!  In addition, Anthony co-wrote the ‘Enterprise Britain’ report for the Conservative Party, with Italian Davide Sola and Romanian Adina Poenaru.
